Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A small and cozy cafe, with a lovely name “Aunt Emma”. The jazz music is good, moderate noise, open late, and nice view of Munich by night. However, my kakao was not that good, also not warm enough. So maybe better to come and try something else."
"we had the shakshuka and the chorizo omelette. portions are big and service is good but a bit slow. after waiting to be seated even though we made a reservation, we had to request menus after 10 minutes of no attention. a guy just came and took our chair, which turned out to be a waiter working there. he wasn’t dressed like the others and had a coat on. anyway, in general a nice place to go on sundays with good food."
"Lovely cosy place with a fantastic choice of fresh food and drinks - a small list of menues guarantees best ingredients. 100% recommendation!! And the real authentic dedicated staff - you MUST love them!"
"The best Kaiserschmarren in all of Munich. Unreal and so fresh and authentic. It does take 40 minutes to make because it’s made from scratch upon order, but it’s worth the wait. There are plenty of tables outside to sit, and there are also tables inside, but it’s smaller inside. Absolutely recommend!"
"My way to go for a Sunday coffee and cake. Cakes are great with vegan options and pleasent to eat and see. Cute atmosphere and options for online reservation, which I totally recommend"
"For brunch: The coffee is average, but the standout items are the croissants and the eggs. The best time to visit is between 11 am and 12:30 pm in winter for the sunny outdoor seating spots. Reservations are possible and recommended on Sundays. Indoors, there are lovely seating benches nicely decorated with crochet window curtains."
"Found “Tante Emma” through recommendations and it did not disappoint. It is a nice and very popular breakfast place that filled up quickly even on a Monday morning. Very friendly and efficient service, great variety of breakfast options. Their daily juice recommendation was very delicious. We were a table of five and that provided us with the opportunity to taste different dishes. Their Bauernomlett was a generous serving of a potato omelette with lots of vegetables and a nice salad. The Bircher Müsli and the Joghurt with fresh fruit were served in generous portions. We also had several variations of the scrambled eggs- all delicious and served with fresh herbs. They also provide a small tea selection. Dishes are prepared fresh and therefore come not necessarily at the same time for the table, but the quality of the dishes makes up for it. Finally the croissants were also buttery and flaky with a nice portion of jam. Clearly worth a visit."
"My favorite place to eat in Munich! I absolutely love the atmosphere, food and the staff is fantastic and really kind. The cook is absolutely amazing and makes delicious food!! My comfort place to eat"
